The three badges
Awarded once a school claims its profile and our team confirms it operates, with the registration and contact details checked. The entry-level mark of authenticity.
Earned by results, not subscription. Any school placing in the top ten of a national or regional ranking table, UCE, UACE or PLE, may display the mark for that cycle.
The highest mark, given when our editors name a school in a written verdict, a feature or an Excellence in Education Award. A human judgement, not an algorithm.
Why it means something
A badge is only worth displaying if it cannot be faked or bought. These three rules are what make a Praecip mark mean something to a parent at the gate.
No badge can be bought, and a subscription does not unlock one. Every mark reflects something a school did, verified, ranked or recognised.
A badge names the cycle, table or piece it came from. "Top-Ten Ranked, UCE 2025" is specific and checkable, not a vague claim of excellence.
If a school stops re-verifying, or a ranking changes, the badge lapses. The mark only means something because it can be taken away.
