About

What this school is, in plain words

Ambrosoli International School is one of Kampala's oldest international primary schools, founded in 1972 and named after the Italian missionary Dr Giuseppe Ambrosoli. It follows the British primary curriculum aligned to Cambridge Primary, taking children from Early Years to the end of primary.

To put the whole child first: strong literacy and numeracy, alongside kindness, curiosity and the confidence to ask why.

Ambrosoli founding ethos, 1972

The Kololo campus is long established and leafy, and the school is a well-known feeder into the secondary Cambridge and IB schools across the city.

A message

From the head teacher

For more than fifty years this school has put the whole child first. Strong literacy and numeracy, yes, but also kindness, curiosity and the confidence to ask why.

The Praecip verdict

A long-established Kololo primary with deep roots and warm care

What stands out

Ambrosoli is among the oldest international primaries in Kampala, with a leafy Kololo campus and a strong reputation for pastoral care and a balanced, child-centred Cambridge Primary programme.

Where it falters

As a primary-only school, families plan the secondary transition separately. For the early and primary years, its heritage and community are hard to match.
