Headteachers across Wakiso district will tell you the same thing off the record: morning arrivals have slid by 30–45 minutes over the last three years, and afternoon dismissals are starting earlier to compensate. The Northern Bypass and the new Entebbe Expressway both reroute commuter traffic past school gates.
A handful of schools have responded by quietly expanding boarding capacity, even at primary level. Others have moved start times to 8:30am. Parents are split, for working families, the longer day is a feature, not a bug.
