Job Description

  • Provides academic leadership for the Primary Education Department, ensuring programme quality, curriculum relevance, faculty support and alignment with national education standards.

Purpose of the Role

  • To provide strategic and academic leadership that enhances teacher training, curriculum delivery, educational innovation and student success within the Primary Education Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and strategic oversight for the department.
  • Foster innovation, collaboration and professional growth.
  • Ensure programmes align with national standards and emerging trends.
  • Oversee curriculum planning, implementation and evaluation.
  • Guide development and delivery of science-related courses.
  • Promote innovative teaching methodologies and technologies.
  • Ensure teaching materials and methods remain current and effective.
  • Mentor and support faculty members.
  • Coordinate with other departments and external agencies.
  • Monitor student progress and implement interventions where necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master's degree in a science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, etc.).
  • Teaching experience in primary and/or secondary education.
  • Leadership experience in an academic or educational setting.
  • Strong curriculum development skills.
  • Knowledge of teacher training methodologies.

  • Ability to apply theory to practice.
  • Curriculum design and academic delivery skills.
  • Diverse teaching methodologies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
