The Opportunity

  • AIMS Education is seeking an enthusiastic International Student Recruitment Officer to join its growing team in Kampala. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to support students pursuing international education pathways while contributing to organisational growth targets.
  • As part of a global education consultancy with offices across multiple continents, you will help students navigate complex application and visa processes for institutions in the UK, USA, Canada, Europe and Asia. The role combines advisory, administrative and relationship-building elements in a target-driven environment, and you will receive training on partner institutions and recruitment best practice while developing valuable skills in international education services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personalised guidance to prospective students on suitable study-abroad programmes matching their academic background and career goals.
  • Assist students with completing university applications, personal statements and required documentation for partner institutions worldwide.
  • Explain visa requirements and procedures for popular study destinations, including the UK, Canada, USA and European countries.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with partner universities and colleges to stay updated on admission criteria and scholarship opportunities.
  • Utilise the company CRM system to track student enquiries, applications and follow-up activity throughout the recruitment cycle.
  • Participate in education fairs, school visits and community events to promote AIMS Education services and partner institutions.
  • Create targeted outreach strategies using social media and email campaigns to engage prospective students in Central Uganda.
  • Monitor and report on recruitment metrics, including conversion rates and student enrolment numbers against monthly targets.

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university, with recent graduates encouraged to apply for this entry-level position.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal ability to build rapport quickly with students, parents and educational partners from various backgrounds.
  • Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn CRM systems and other digital tools.
  • Self-motivated and target-oriented mindset with demonstrable experience achieving goals in academic, volunteer or work settings.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in customer service, sales, education counselling or student support roles, even voluntary or internship-based.
  • Knowledge of international education systems, particularly UK UCAS, US Common App or Canadian university application processes.
  • Familiarity with visa requirements for major study destinations, and experience assisting with documentation preparation.
  • Second language ability in Luganda, Swahili or other local languages to better serve diverse student communities across Uganda.
  • Participation in education-related extracurricular activity, student leadership or volunteer work demonstrating commitment to the sector.
