Job Overview

  • AsOne Ministries Uganda Company Limited is hiring an ICT Teacher for its primary and high school team serving the Namutumba, Serere and Luuka communities. The position begins in January 2027 and reports to the Director of Studies.
  • You will teach engaging, Christ-centred ICT lessons and take responsibility for the care, maintenance and security of the computer laboratory. The role builds students' digital competence alongside their spiritual growth.
  • Hours are full-time, 8am to 5pm. The role calls for fluency in English, at least two years of relevant experience and a genuine interest in teaching technology to young learners in a Ugandan community setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write lesson plans and schemes of work for ICT aligned to the national and school curricula.
  • Teach inclusive, Christ-centred lessons that build computer literacy, typing and everyday digital skills.
  • Introduce learners to computer parts and functions, word processing, basic internet use and digital safety.
  • Provide remedial support to students who need extra help, following the school timetable.
  • Assess learning through formative and summative tools, including practical computer-based assessments.
  • Differentiate instruction so different abilities and learning needs are met in the same classroom.
  • Maintain and secure the school's ICT equipment and computer laboratory so everything works safely.
  • Uphold the professional code of conduct for educators while nurturing digitally competent, spiritually rooted students.
  • Work with other teachers and school leadership to bring ICT into other subjects.
  • Follow educational technology trends and bring useful tools into teaching practice.

Essential

  • Diploma in Information and Communication Technology, Education or a closely related field.
  • Two or more years teaching ICT or computer studies at primary or secondary level.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, basic networking concepts and introductory programming or digital literacy tools.
  • Strong understanding of Uganda's national ICT curriculum for primary education.
  • Able to engage young learners and work well with colleagues and parents.
  • Commitment to Christian values and to delivering Christ-centred instruction.

Desirable

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, ICT or Computer Science.
  • Experience with platforms such as Google Classroom, Khan Academy or a similar learning management system.
  • Basic computer hardware troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
  • Previous work in a faith-based or mission-driven school.
  • Certification such as ICDL or Microsoft Certified Educator.
  • Willing to run extracurricular activities such as computer clubs or science fairs.
