Job Overview

  • We are hiring primary school teachers. Masaka School for the Deaf is recruiting primary teachers for our deaf learners.
  • The teachers will be responsible for teaching and supporting deaf and hearing-impaired learners using learner-oriented methods, delivering lessons using Uganda Sign Language (USL) and appropriate visual teaching aids, promoting inclusion, emotional well-being, life skills and positive social development of the learners, working closely with parents, guardians, therapists and fellow staff to support holistic learner development, and participating in co-curricular and vocational development activities within the school.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Special Needs Education.
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in Special Needs Education.
  • Proficiency in Uganda Sign Language.
  • Experience working with deaf or hearing-impaired children.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and report-writing skills.
