The Opportunity

  • The Student Coordinator holds the link between students, teachers, families and school administration across AsOne Primary and High School. The post covers the Namutumba, Luuka and Serere regions and starts in January 2027, reporting to the Head Teacher.
  • The work is part pastoral, part administrative: keeping student records straight, guiding discipline processes fairly, and running the co-curricular programme that gives school life its shape beyond the classroom.
  • AS ONE Ministries Uganda is looking for someone with organisational discipline, diplomatic skill and a genuine commitment to Christian values in education. The role asks for administrative precision and real engagement with students in equal measure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily school devotions, keeping them age-appropriate and connected to student life.
  • Design and run discipleship lessons and mentorship sessions on character, ethical decision-making and personal faith.
  • Coordinate faith-based clubs and activities, including Scripture Union gatherings, Bible quiz competitions and prayer groups.
  • Organise outreach and community service projects that connect classroom learning to real-world application.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential student records covering academic progress, behaviour and counselling notes.
  • Manage student discipline with fairness and restorative principles, working with teachers and parents on behavioural concerns.
  • Provide guidance and counselling to students facing academic, social or personal difficulty, with clear referral pathways.
  • Plan and run co-curricular programmes: sports days, cultural events and leadership workshops.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between students, teaching staff, parents and school leadership on learner welfare.
  • Assist in organising graduations, parent-teacher meetings and special assemblies.

Essential

  • Minimum diploma in education, social work, counselling or a related field from a recognised Ugandan institution, with verifiable transcripts.
  • At least two years of direct experience with children or adolescents in educational, pastoral or youth development settings.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate across age groups and cultural backgrounds.
  • Understanding of child development and adolescent psychology as it applies to Ugandan primary and secondary students.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office for record keeping and reporting.
  • Valid Ugandan national identification and willingness to undergo background checks for work with minors.

Desirable

  • Bachelor's degree in education, theology, social sciences or counselling.
  • Additional certification in guidance and counselling, child psychology or youth ministry.
  • Experience in faith-based schools that integrate spiritual formation with academic learning.
  • Fluency in Lusoga, Luganda or Ateso to communicate with students, parents and community members.
  • Prior involvement in organising student camps, retreats or leadership conferences.
  • Knowledge of Ministry of Education policy on student welfare, discipline and child protection.

What the Role Offers

  • Competitive monthly salary aligned with Ugandan education sector rates for coordinator posts, paid on the last working day of the month.
  • Health insurance through a reputable Ugandan provider, including inpatient, outpatient and maternity cover.
  • Housing allowance or furnished accommodation near the school campus.
  • Daily lunch during school terms and transport facilitation from designated pickup points.
  • Sponsored workshops and short courses in student coordination, counselling and educational leadership.
  • Paid leave in line with the Employment Act and the school calendar.
  • A clear path for advancement within AS ONE Ministries based on performance.
