About

This is who we are

Founded in 1972 on the Gayaza estate as the feeder primary for Gayaza High School, GJS is one of Uganda's most established girls' primary schools. Its boarding tradition mirrors the senior school, and the curriculum is designed to prepare girls for the academic culture of the country's top secondary schools.

A message

From the head teacher

Mrs. Robinah Kibuuka

At GJS, our girls learn to read carefully, write clearly and think independently, the three habits that carry them through every gate that comes next.

The Praecip verdict

A direct line into Gayaza High, disciplined, literary, deeply pastoral

What stands out

GJS does what feeder primaries are supposed to do: it shapes girls who walk into S1 with study habits already formed. Reading culture is the unmistakable signature, assemblies, prize-giving, even queueing for lunch are punctuated by recitations.

Where it falters

The campus is modest by Kampala-private-school standards. Parents who weight glossy facilities over teacher continuity may look elsewhere; those who weight the bridge into a top secondary find few peers.
