About

What this school is, in plain words

Acacia International School is a primary IB World School on Acacia Avenue in Kololo, running the Primary Years Programme for children from Early Years to the end of primary. Founded in 2008, it is a feeder for the secondary IB and Cambridge schools across Kampala.

The school is small and centrally located, with an inquiry-led PYP programme and a close-knit, internationally diverse parent community.

A message

From the head teacher

These are the years where a love of learning is either lit or lost. Our PYP classrooms are built around questions children actually ask, and around the joy of finding things out.

The Praecip verdict

A small, central PYP feeder school with strong early-years care

What stands out

Acacia does one thing well: an inquiry-led Primary Years Programme in a central Kololo location, with small classes and warm pastoral care. It is a natural feeder into the secondary IB and Cambridge schools.

Where it falters

Because it stops at the end of primary, families must plan the secondary transition, and facilities are compact given the urban site. For the early years, though, it is a well-regarded choice.
